Vacation Bible SchoolWelcome to the family of Children’s Ministries. We have a vision: to imagine, to hope, and to look toward the future. Our vision for the children of PUMC is that they will discover and grow in their faith in the Lord. Spiritual growth is a lifelong process through which our children will learn to make the best use of the many gifts God has given them.

Throughout the year many special events are offered for children and their families:

  • Vacation Bible School – evening VBS is usually the second week of July

  • Third Grade Bible Presentation – each third grader is presented a Bible as a gift from the church during a special presentation during worship in September

  • Advent Workshop – held at the beginning of the Advent season for elementary children and their families.

  • Polar Express Christmas Breakfast – held on the second Saturday of December for preschoolers and their families.

  • Easter Egg Hunt - Jesus is the Reason Breakfast (with a special visitor) are among the special activities planned for children each year

As a church family we are very blessed with the tremendous resources that we have. The Children's Ministries staff strives to help make disciples of Jesus Christ. If you need any information about the programs offered for the children at PUMC, please contact Janell Prater or Debbie Lasky.

Kids' Klub
Our Kids' Klub Program is for families with children 3 years through 6th grade designed to nurture Christian relationships among children, youth and adults in a mid-week session of fellowship and study. Designed for two, twelve week semesters, one in the fall, the other in the winter/spring, Kids' Klub is held each Wednesday, from 4:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

The four parts of Kids' Klub

- Bible Study, Choir/Worship, Dinner Hour and Activities -

are used to develop the purpose of Kids' Klub: to create a desire for knowing Christ; to develop active and loyal membership in the church; to provide an atmosphere of loving, caring acceptance accompanied by fun and study; to develop Christians who are willing to share their faith with a fuller understanding of the Bible.

Kids' Klub is a well-rounded Christian program designed to surround God's children in Christian love through a time of fun and fellowship around fun weekly themes, making new friends [young and old] and experiencing God's love.

Bible Study Learning about the Bible, God's Word, through grade level material, taught by prepared parents and other adults, teaches students of God's activity in the world through Jesus Christ as Savior and Redeemer for all people.

Choir/Worship Each week time is spent singing our praises to the Lord and in preparing the children choirs to participate in the Sunday worship life of the congregation. Students are scheduled to sing in their respective choirs approximately once a month [see Music]

Dinner Hour enjoying a shared meal together helps everyone experience Christian community within the context of our church "family". Parents help prepare meals and act as table leaders.

Activities Crafts, games athletics and hobbies lead by parents allow children to experience creative expression, cooperation, team building and lots of noisy fun and games.

Children's Choirs
The music program for the Children is designed to assist the congregation in its worship. Throughout the year, all of the children's choirs allow children in different age groups to praise God at worship services.
